My Favourite Shots

There is no overall theme to this collection, other than that I think all of the images here turned out well! They span an eclectic range of subjects and compositions, being the result of several years gradually learning the craft of photography. There is a mixture of personal and professional work in this set.

The Getty Collection

All of the shots seen in this set were selected by the editors of Getty Images for inclusion in their stock photography archive. You can purchase any of these images for use in large-scale commercial work online at this address.

Photoshop Edits

Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful image editor and a lot of fun to play around with. Most of my shots are optimized and tweaked with this program to some extent but the edits seen here are more overt than others. This set includes some random aspects of photoshoppery; experiments with compositing, HDR, selective colour, tone mapping, layer blending and other such techniques.

The Great Outdoors

Divorced from the commotion of the urban grind, the countryside is our reminder that there is more to this world than concrete and steel :-) This set includes aspects of the rural and natural world; flora, fauna and all things green.

After Dark

When the sun goes down, a whole new range of photographic opportunities dawns! I'm a big fan of the early morning stroll and there's nothing more fun than capturing the amazing changing light of a new day or the vibrant flares of a sunset. I hope you enjoy browsing a few of my darker images.

People

Here's a selection of various characters who have appeared in front of my lens over the years. I have a great love of landscape photography but taking pictures of people is an altogether different art with new rewards and challenges. It's fun getting people to engage with the camera or just capturing human moments with subtle expressions and actions.

This Is England

Inhabited for over thirty five millennia, this small but proud stretch of land on the fringe of the almighty Atlantic is home to fifty one million souls. Its people and landscapes are many and varied with weather that is often damp but always atmospheric. Here's a small slice of photographic scenery with a few personal views of the country I'm proud to call my home.
