Knaresborough is an old and historic market town and civil parish located on the River Nidd in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Knaresborough Forest, which extended far south and encompassed many villages in the vicinity, is reputed to have been one of King John's favourite hunting grounds.
